WHAT IS OMEP?

OMEP is the French acronym for Organisation Mondiale pour l'Education Prescolaire which in English is World Organisation for Early Childhood Education.

OMEP is an international, non-governmental organisation founded in 1948 to advocate for the education of children under the age of eight years throughout the world.

OMEP is currently established in over 70 countries and is represented at worldwide meetings of UNESCO, UNICEF, the European Council, and other international organisations with similar aims.

Nigeria being one of the member countries since 1980 was granted full membership of the World body in 1983.
